EVALUATION AND RATING OF UNCERTAINTY OF FACTORS AFFECTING THE MEASUREMENT RESULTS IN THE GPS SYSTEM

FULL TEXT:

Abstract

This article analyzes the main external and internal factors affecting measurement processes in GPS navigation systems. Particular attention is paid to the sources of uncertainty that influence the accuracy and reliability of positioning results. The effects of the ionosphere and troposphere on signal propagation, satellite geometry parameters, multipath effects, receiver characteristics, and human-related factors are considered as the primary contributors to measurement uncertainty. For each factor, the level of uncertainty is identified and quantitatively evaluated. Mathematical formulas and tabulated data are used to estimate the combined measurement error. The results of the study allow for a comprehensive assessment of total measurement uncertainty and provide recommendations for improving the accuracy of GPS-based measurements. The findings
